Lower Your Tyre Pressure: wider tyres with lower pressures will give you increased grip on wet and muddy winter roads.
Thermal Bottles: When the temperatures drop, you can find that your drinks will actually freeze, and no-one wants an ice lolly in the middle of winter! So get yourself a thermally insulated bottle, to keep your drinks at the ideal temperature.
Winter Specific Shoes: Overshoes are reasonably effective at keeping your feet dry, but they can't match the warmth and waterproofness of a pair of proper, winter-specific shoes.
Waterproof Saddle Bag: If water gets into your saddle bag, it could rust your multitool, or even damage any spare tubes you've got in there. At the very least wrap your spares in a plastic bag, but ideally it could be worth investing in a waterproof saddle bag.
Use A Winter Hack: This hack is very simple, use a hack!! That means, over winter consider putting away your nicest bike, and investing in a cheap bike specifically for riding through the winter. This will mean you won't worry about the winter muck damaging your posh parts.
Baby Wipes: Its an unfortunate fact of life that you will almost certainly get more punctures in the winter. And when you fix them, your hands will inevitably get very dirty. So why not carry some wet wipes with you.
Flatter Roads: When it's really cold, you don't want to head up any long, hard climbs. These will inevitably cause you to sweat, and then, when you head down the other side your sweat will cool and you could get really cold.
